The Type of Content Your Audience Craves

Writing A+ content consistently is hard.

One of the things that eases the burden is knowing the type of content your audience craves.

Think about that mouthwatering burger you love from your favorite burger joint.

The corn-dusted bun is just the right size, the beef is tender, the sauce is finger licking good and the veggies add the right amount of crunch (and don’t make you feel as guilty about your unhealthy meal).

Each part of that burger forms an important part of what keeps you going back for more.

The same is true for your digital content. It becomes a bit easier to create stellar content when you know what to include to reel people in and get them hooked. In fact, I’ve narrowed the list down into four critical components. Include these components and your content will be A+ all the time.

Authentic

Your audience values authenticity. They want to know the story behind the brand and feel like they’re connecting with something that matters. Content marketing isn’t about selling 24/7; it’s about building a connection with your audience. This connection only comes through authenticity.

Value-Added

Internet users are bombarded with content from all channels daily. For instance, over 100 million photos are uploaded on Instagram daily. The only way to stand-out in the crowd is to educate your audience with fresh perspectives. Stop trying to rewrite existing content! What new perspectives do you have to bring to the table?

Engaging

Your audience has to like what they see, but they also have to know what you want them to do. Each piece of content you create should have a clear call-to-action. Invite them to leave a comment, like, share or fill out a form for a free download…whatever it is that relates to the content you have produced.

Appropriate

Your fresh, up-to-date content will only be valuable if it’s placed on the appropriate channels. An Instagram post, for example, can’t be the same as a Facebook post since Instagram is an image heavy platform. Understand the medium you are using to share the content before posting it.

Final Words

Content creation is less intimidating when you understand how to create the right type of content. Your content should be authentic, add value, have a clear call-to-action and be appropriate for the medium you’re using. Need help creating stellar content? Contact Me.
