How Can Blogging Promote Your Business?

Blogging has become a consistent part of the way we use the internet.

In the United States, there are “31 million active bloggers posting at least once per month.”

Blog creation is a top priority for approximately 55 percent of companies.

Blogging is relevant, timely and crucial for getting your website recognised on the internet.

“Blogging is here to stay. It adds the pizzaz your website needs to be found and make an impact.”

Blogging Creates Interested Leads

People visit blogs to find answers to their most pressing questions. Type a query into a search engine and the results are usually a series of blog posts that have been written using those keywords. A customer wants to know that you can add value to their experience rather than just consistently trying to get them to buy a product.

How can you educate potential customers? How can you show potential customers that you know what you’re talking about? Blogs that use a mix off visuals and text are a great place to start. Blogging can help potential customers learn something important from your brand so that they keep it in mind when considering a future purchase.

“Only 17 percent of customers say buying something is their primary purpose when visiting a brand’s website for the first time.”

Blogging Attracts Organic Leads

This point is closely tied to attracting interested leads. Digital marketing consists of both paid and organic reach. Social media ads, for instance, would be examples of paid reach. Blogs are examples of organic reach because you can attract people through search engines if you use the right keywords.

Some tricks that I have learned over the years to do free keyword research are:

  1. Use Google’s autocomplete feature. Type a word or phrase into Google’s search bar and look at the autocomplete options. Those options provide a good idea of the types of content people are searching for.

  2. Use Google Trends to identify trending topics.

  3. Use Answer the Public to identify popular questions being asked.

Blogging Shows that Your Brand is Worth Listening To

The trick to good blogging is to consistently produce content that showcases the brand’s perspective on key questions. You want to create evergreen content that has the chance to impact your audience repeatedly. A content marketing strategy that includes regular blog posting can help establish your brand as a thought leader in its industry.
